Silent walk home from the UW game

Back from the game.

At half time their was enough crying in the restrooms the floors were actually clean. On the walk home it was quiet. Cricket chripping quiet. Didn't even want to hang out at any tailgate after this game.

I really don’t care to rehash what was said already so I’m sorry in advance.

When UW scored in like 30 seconds before the end of the first half oh I felt the pain of last season UW game. The second quarter the defense was poor to say the least. No pressure on Stanbeck at all. Missed tackles well you know the drill. The second half the Cats must have given up about 100 yards or less and forced at least 6 punts in the second half. So good job there.

We should have had 3 return touchdowns on INT’s.
Patrick dropped two and #24 dropped one.

The OL is BAD. When not holding they just can’t block. I don’t get it. I ranted last week about this. What else can be said. ????

Tui threw a few nice passes. Steptoe should have caught that TD early in the 3rd. Again why no crossing patterns. Our TD was a slant right ? Tui took what 6 sacks beyond that he really hasn’t looked like he is improved from last season. I like when he rolls out. Of course we did that what ONCE ????

Are we getting better ?
Is Tui developing into a better QB ?

The special teams hasn’t made any big plays this whole season take away the game winning kick against BYU.

The lack of any big play really hurts this team.

3-2 is where we should be. Season is not lost but is seriously slipping away. Going on the road may be what this team needs. Getting away from us internet geeks who thought they should be at least 7-5 and their girlfriends making bowl trip plans during winter recess.

1990,

I'm sorry we couldn't get together at the tailgate tonight. Honestly, after this debacle, I wouldn't have been good company at all. Quiet and angry, that's all I felt after this game.

It eludes me why Arizona has to have such a sucky offense, year after year, recruiting class after recruiting class, qualified coach after qualified coach. This university has virtually NIL memory of offenses which can execute when they need to: so the rule, not the exception, now is...they don't.

I will see the rest of the games this year. I merely hope they are entertaining ones. I basically look at the $155 I spent on season tickets this year as paying to hang out with you and all the rest of my friends at GOAZCATS.com--and no longer for competitive football.

If I get it, it will be a happy surprise. Sad thing is, I can't remember how many consecutive football seasons that Arizona has brought me to that point. Far too many.

Our defense played well except for the fact that they did not get any pressure on the QB and the db's can not takle worth a darn.

Doesn't matter how well our defense plays if our offense can't score.

Last year when Tui didn't know a lot of the offense they ran a lot of play action roll outs and they worked very well. Why aren't we still running these, I can't remember them running many, if any, this year. It would help Tui get away from the rush as he would already be moving a little and could at least throw it away without a penalty because he would be out of the pocket. I think this would cut down on the sacks and it would help the passing game as well, just my opinion though, guess its up to the coaches.

I respectfully disagree. They couldn't make the tackle when they had the man trapped in the backfield how many times. They gave up how many long plays. I hate to bag on our guys too much, but their offensive line controlled our defensive line and our secondary was tourched more than once too often.

Tui HAS rolled out this season, ZC. On quite a few plays.

Only trouble is, he STILL takes sacks out there. He doesn't tuck the ball and run or throw it away. EVER.

Willie Tuitama is NO threat to run right now, and you think opposing coaches don't know that? Damn right they do.

And as for our D, the tackling wasn't so bad tonight. Our guys simply got outquicked. All they can do is hit hard, and even that left them the second half. Bad, bad, bad.

Guess I've just missed it because it's not working quite like it did last year. Seemed like every other passing play was a playaction rollout with a WR dragging across the field to get 10-20 yards.

Also add the fact that we never truly replaced Mike Bell. Did we take his presense on the field lightly. Becuase, I truly do miss him right about now.

I`m a little surprised at the defensive hate. They have played reasonably hard through 4 games(minus some horrible tackling). Our offense has given them little to nothing to play for. Ten points is not going to get it done. We have only been over 20 points once this year. That was against Stephen F Austin. Even in that game our offense played dreadful considering the competition. Lets quit blaming the defense when our offense has ****ed us in every game we've played. Even the LSU debacle was square on our offenses shoulders.

Cason got burned but he's the golden boy so it is ok.

The offense can't do anything if they can't block.

Obviously it is Canales' fault that there was no time tonight.

Damn him for not blocking.

I don't think it's defensive hate. Just reality. They weren't very good tonight. Not up to the standard of past games. Most weeks folks knock on the offense, which surely has been stalled. This week I just think the defense played down to the offense's level for much of the game. So I say, let's quit making like our defense stepped up when, for this game, they didn't. At least I don't think so.

The defense played reasonably well, minus some horrible tackling. The offense played reasonably well, minus some horrible blocking.
Bottom line, we lost, and with plenty of responsibility to go around.

They did step up in the second half. They stepped up in the USC game. They played reasonably well in the LSU game(considering our offense and Special teams basically spotted LSU 14 points). They played really well against a tough BYU team. The only game in which the D played horrid was SFA. Our D has consistantly stepped up throughout the season. We can't expect them to continue to step up when the offense rarely, if ever executes.

I agree our defense did not step up tonight to the level they are used to, but our offense hasn't stepped up in 5 games. When they do, and the defense still plays below par, then maybe I'll change my tune.

Somebody's coaching those guys. It ain't Stoops and it ain't Cason.

I really don't believe play calling is the issue--if you execute, it doesn't much matter what you call (with notable exceptions). We didn't recruit the 112th worst offense in the country.

I don't know what to say . . .
