Oooooh, that's gonna leave a mark!

Funny thing, all the Diamondback fans here speculating on when they will overtake the mighty G-men.

Here's a thought: You might want to improve on that 1-6 head-to-head record!

And I gotta tell you, I really love the "baseball savvy" Dollarback fans at the game. They giigle like schoolgirls every time somebody gets Bonds out, meanwhile guys like Grissom and Cruz are ripping Batista a new orafice. The only thing more pathetic is Dodger fans and their "Barry Sucks" chant when they are down 5 runs in the ninth.

Reality check guys, do you really think guys like Kata, Hillenbrand, and Overbay will keep this pace up all year?

Ain't gonna happen.

Oh and how anyone could not have Schmidt in their top 3 for the first half Cy Young needs to put away the bottle of Southern Comfort!

(Admittedly holding on to this message until the pen wraps up this thing up in the ninth....sheesh)

Lets not get carried away

The mighty G-men are now 5 games in front of a team who has been patchwork at best for the first half of the season. I dont have a problem going to war with Kata or Hillenbrand, or Johnson, Schilling, Webb, Gonzo, or Finley. You might be 5-1 against the D-backs, but were only 5 games out, possibly 3, possibly 7, with alot of games to be played.

And the Dollarback references, get a grip. didnt the Giants pay big bucks for off season acqusitions Jose Cruz, Durham, and washed up Alfonso? Unlike your squad, which thrives on Sabean's mid season pick ups, the Backs have proved they can weather the storm with farm talent.

Considering the injury epidemic the Backs have encountered in the first half, I would be a very worried Giant if they were within 3,4,5,6, or 7 games at the break.

And as far as fans go, if you call nibbling on cheese and sipping chardoney at the ballpark a "savvy fan", then the Giant fans are top notch.

I'm not sure I'm loving that lineup as much as you are. Your pitching horses are closer to the glue factory than the Kentucky Derby at this point, as evidenced by all the injuries this year. A bunch of hot hitting rookies doesn't mean a hill of beans in July, we'll see how they hold up in the second half. I'll give you it's a long season, but passing up the Mighty G-Men is by no means a certainty!

Ummm.....no. Durham makes about 7 mil per, Alfonso about 3 and Cruz even less. Cruz was given his unconditional release by Toronto in the off season. And as for your farm system idea, how do you explain the holes in our staff being filled by Jerome Williams(handing Schilling his hat today), Jesse Foppert, Kurt Ainsworth and now Brian Powell and Kevin Correia. All of these guys are homegrown and rookies!

Makes you wonder with so much farm talent, why the Dollarbacks are so intent on prying Juan Gonzalez from Texas.

Ever been to a Giants game? Yeah, they have really good food at Pac Bell.....and really good fans too. The one thing they don't have....a swimming pool....damn.

One thing on which Giants and Diamondback fans can agree:

The Dodgers Suck!!!!

Today was embarrasing, but..

like we agreed on, it is a long season. Jerome Williams was unbelievable today, but with the exception of Ainsworth and Foppert I cant say I have heard of any of your other rookies.

And yes, I have been to a handful of games at Pac Bell, its a great stadium with great fans, but there is alot to be said for a $5 hot dog and a $8 beer vs sushi and all that other foo foo cuisine.

At this point I cant really say much in defense of the D-Backs, they have been dominated the last two games, hitting and pitching.

The D-Backs WILL catch the Giants. It's just a question of when. DollarBacks- LMAO. Tell me why it's so bad that the D-Backs got Schilling and Johnson, but it's OK for the Giants to get players like Bonds. I seem to be missing something there.

Barry Bonds has accepted less money from the Giants TWICE now in order to stay in the town he loves. The Dollar-backs have largely been a team of Colangelo's mercenary hires.

That's a noble cause, but you might want to set your sights a bit lower. How about winning a series from a team in the tops 3 of a division first, or beating a pitcher with a winning record.

I'm eager to see how your rookies hold up in September. Baseball history does not bode well for you.
