What does the conference have to gain by bringing in two more teams? I love that we all play eachother and CCG's are a complete joke (especially in the PAC-10 where fans don't travel well. You think Oregon or Cal would bring 20,000 fans to ****ing Phoenix for a conference championship game?). And BYU's Sunday game issues make all of this a non-starter.

Most of us who work would be pissed with earlier starts for the Thursday night basketball games.

SEC will not play home-and-homes with anyone on a competitive level. Period.

If (when?) two more teams ever do get added, you can't split the teams up like that. You have to use the natural geographic pairs for road trips. This is done so that you can save a ton of money travelling. Can you imagine if Arizona had to make a Bay Area/Salt Lake City weekend trip? Would be insane.

But agreed. Not being able to play every team makes the regular season absolutely worthless. People talk about how great college football is because the regular season means everything, but unbalanced schedules make it mean much, much less.

Plus no AD or President in the conference will agree to a system that has them out of UCLA/USC's division.

Loving the idea of a north division that is made up of the Oregons, the Washingtons, and the Utahs.

FSN pleads with the Pac-10 to be able to get a TV package of only Pac-10 South.

The Pac has everything to gain, no more co champions win it on the field take out the guest work, People said he same thing about the ACC fans they wouldn't travel to Jax, but the ACC championship game is a spectacle, and the ACC is becoming more competitive and the big east is even beginning to past the pac in respect thats why you rotatee venues, a 12 team conference would make the pac more competitive, and give it more exposure.. early start would be a 6 pm start, how many times have we heard east coast bias??? noone sees us play with 8:30 PST starts on FSN Arizona, unless you have direct tv or cable package that supports it. what about east coast alumni,they can tune in and see games at a reasonable time..thinking to the future the pac better conform or run the risk of being passed up by the MWC and the reason you take it to the SEC is because if your the best in college fb, show us, if they refuse make it public of the offer, pull their card.. the games would be against evenly matched programs.. no USC vs Vandy

but in the same conference, it strengthens the conference and it doesn't change the schedule much, drop one OOC game and you will play 10 of the 11 teams

Methinks someone did not watch the ACC championship game this year. Even the announcers were discussing the terrible attendance.

NO ****ING WAY do schools drop another OOC game. Not a chance. Not even worth discussing. Incredibly stupid idea that would further hinder conference team's records by costing them either a rep-building inter-sectional win, or a record-building gimme. And what good is playing 10 of 11? You're either playing everyone or you're not.

WHO CARES about split championships? How have split titles hurt the conference in anyway?

Why are east coast alumni more important than the bulk of the conference viewership that lives in the Pacific time zone? East coast sportswriters aren't going to start doing their job just because games start a single hour earlier, hell they don't even watch afternoon games on the weekends.

If I have a choice between people who live in Pac-10 areas getting to see games at a reasonable time and the existence of east coast bias, I'm taking the games every single time.

I'm not even sure how a conference having more teams than the Pac-10 means that the Pac-10 is less competitive.

split national titles suck, like split conference titles suck.. the point of being a champion is to be the best not co-best, decide it on the field, point is the strongest conferences in college football have conference title games, they dont b!tch and whine about it and how many games they play or who their OOC opponents is, the pac ten is always criticized on how we do business by the same east coast media that we complain about, if you wanna be the best, you gotta do what they do

SEC does not like playing home and homes. They love padding their schedules with Louisian-Lafayette, Citadel, Louisiana-Monroe, Troy, etc.
This isn't basketball. You get 3 or 4 OOC games, and a single loss can kill you. That's why NO conference does anything like this.

Big-10 doesn't have one either, and they're not exactly begging for a 12th team.

its not more teams it quality, BYU has a huge fanbase, utah has been a solid prograqm as well and between the two have dominated the MWC.. you take those two because of proximity to the pac ten, if we just wanted 2 teams, go with san jose state and san diego state, its making your conference stronger.. we are criticized alot but the main reason is hansen said, he would pull the pac from the BCS if we went to a plus one bowl system, the pac ten could be so much more powerful, if this giant wasnt content where it is.

Is anyone questioning whether USC was the best? Fine, the tie-breaker is their head-to-head matchup, USC is the best. Done.
What good is a conference championship game where a team that's not the best wins (say with a lesser record from the other division), or a team that had lost the first time they played head-to-head? Who's better, VT or BC? How do you know?
