Not sure where to put this, but I saw this neat article in either SI or ESPN The Magazine where they put together a photo-collage of the numbers 0-99, with the best to wear the number in any professional sport in the slot. So for example, MJ was at 23, the image of 23 was an actual shot of MJ in the jersey. 4 was Brett Farve. Etc. It was really neat to see how the style of the lettering and the colors of the jersey combined with the legends of the game. Certain number/jerseys/color combinations are just burned into your head. It was cool because the numbers were cropped and you couldn't see the athlete, but you could tell who was who for many of them.

Anyway, you get the idea. I was wondering what it would look like if you tried to do this for Arizona sports. You would be able to pick from all sports, but would have to limit it UA athletes.

The image won't be as interesting, because our jerseys won't have as much variation, and I don't think we could get to 99, but I'd be interested to see how far we can go.

So this thread is for making that list.

(FTA: Polk is the first woman's basketball player to have her jersey retired at the school.
Arizona men's players who have had their jerseys retired are Mike Bibby (10), Sean Elliott (32), Jason Gardner (22) and Steve Kerr (25).

I think you would have to have Kenny Lofton, Terry Francona, Trevor Hoffman, Casey Candele, Ed Vosberg, Ron Hassey, Chip Hale, Scott Erickson, Craig Lefferts at least from Baseball. Have no idea where to find their nos.
